BURLINGTON’S VINTAGE FINDS
Posted by: Linda Wolf
Take a step back in time the next time you roll through Vermont by exploring the vintage shops scattered through Burlington, Winooski and Essex Junction. Burlington’s lively arts district on Pine Street will keep you occupied all afternoon with dozens of artist studios, record shops, used book stores and places along the way to grab coffee, tea, a nibble of cheese or bread and a glass of wine. Don’t be fooled by the run the down industrial buildings dotting the landscape, there is beauty around ever corner of the Queen City.
Break away from the Church Street Marketplace and explore Burlington’s funky side by checking out:
–Old Gold
–The Vault Collective
–Anjou & The Little Pear
–The Lamp Shop
–Barge Canal Market (be sure to look left, right, up and down!)
–Rackk & Ruin
–Vintage Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace
–Deep 6 Fixtures and Goods
–Light Club Lamp Shop (sip on cocktails while perusing the Light Club’s ‘for-sale’ lamp collection)
If you’re down on Pine Street we recommend stopping in for a coffee at Speeder & Earl’s or sidling up to Brio Coffeework’s tasting counter. Looking for bite to eat? Split a bagel with your lover at Myer’s Bagels or Feldman’s. Round out your afternoon by sipping on wine and nibbling on a cheese plate at Dedalus (it’s both beautiful and informative).
And if you’re into exploring beyond the BTV city limits:
–Full Circle in Winooski
–Architectural Salvage Warehouse (Mason Brothers) in Essex Junction
–Five Corners Antiques in Essex Junction
